INSA RUDOLPH

SINGER • COMPOSER • SOUND HUNTRESS

Biography

Insa Rudolph studied jazz vocals at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and since works as a freelance singer and composer in the fields of songwriting, film and theatre music as well as radio play.

Her compositions are inspired by unusual sound sources as well as the unconventional use of instruments; combining the familiar and the unknown to produce unexpected and creative new soundscapes.

She has written and recorded soundtracks for award-winning narrative independent films such as National Bird (Executive Producer: Wim Wenders), Enemies of the state (Executive Producer: Errol Morris) and Unites States vs. Reality Winner (Executive Producer: Wim Wenders), all directed by Sonia Kennebeck.

As a founding member and musical director of the independent art compagnie werkgruppe2 Insa has collaborated on a variety of documentary projects (theater, film, podcasts, digital storytelling) over the last 10 years. After ‘Marina’, a short documentary that won the Golden Dove at DOK Leipzig, and Fredda, a short film that premiered at Filmfest Dresden in 2021, werkgruppe2 is currently working on their next short film.

Recently Insa has been nominated for the „Kreativ Prämie Filmmusik“ by the Ministry of Science and Art Hessen.
